a woman died urday after a vehicle crashed through a car wash on the north side in the lincoln square neighborhood.about 9:50 a.m., a 56-year-old man drove a volkswagon golf through a closed overhead door of a car wash in the 5400 block of north damen avenue, police said.a woman who was inside was struck by the door and the vehicle, and ended up pinned between both.the victim was extricated by firefighters, taken to st. francis hospital in evanston and pronounced dead at 10:27 a.m., according to the cook county medical examiner's office and police.the driver stayed at the scene, and the major accident investigation unit was investigating.
