two san diego police officers opened fire in a barrio logan street friday morning during a bizarre pursuit of a woman driving a stolen pickup truck, a police captain said.the woman was not struck by bullets, but soon crashed the truck — which had been swiped moments earlier from the convention center — into a trolley pole, capt. brian ahearn told onscenetv and other news media.she then tried to run, but police caught and arrested her, the captain said.the woman was taken to the hospital with a minor injury from the crash. ahearn identified her as jessica turner, 32, and said she told officers that she had recently moved to san diego from colorado.the strange incident started about 7 a.m., when an electrical contractor working at the convention center reported to an employee there that his work truck — a chevrolet silverado — was missing, ahearn said. the contractor and the employee jumped into a black pickup and started to look for the missing silverado in the parking lot.meanwhile, the person driving the stolen work truck hit a golf cart driven by another convention center employee — but did not stop, the captain said. the person in the golf cart was not hurt.soon the convention center employee and the contractor found the stolen truck and started following it as the woman drove it down harbor drive. they also called police.a harbor police officer spotted the stolen vehicle and started to follow as well. by the time the truck reached the intersection of harbor and ...
